Terms of Service

By downloading or using Sketchy ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. About the App

Sketchy is a skateboarding companion app that provides trick dice, skill progression tracking, warmup routines, quizzes, session journaling, and skate culture content. The App is provided by TheJoeCodes ("we", "us", "our").

2. Eligibility

You may use Sketchy at any age. The App does not require an account or collect personal information. If you are under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law), we encourage you to use the App with a parent or guardian's awareness.

3. Licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the usage rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store through which you obtained it.

4. In-App Purchases

Sketchy offers a one-time lifetime purchase ("Sketchy Pro") that unlocks additional features. This is a non-consumable purchase — you pay once and retain access permanently on the platform you purchased it on.

  • Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not collect or have access to your payment details.
  • Refunds are handled by the respective store. To request a refund, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly.
  • You can restore a previous purchase on the same platform at any time using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App.

5. Local Data

All app data — including quiz scores, progression, session journal entries, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers or cloud storage for user data. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all local data. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device changes, resets, or app removal.

6. Third-Party Content

The App includes links to and content from third-party services (weather data, map data, skate video websites, brand logos). We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or data practices. Your use of third-party content is subject to their own terms and policies.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent any access restrictions or security measures
  • Redistribute, sublicence, or resell the App or any part of it

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Skateboarding involves inherent risks — the App provides suggestions and entertainment only, not professional instruction. Always skate within your ability and wear appropriate safety equipment.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to physical injury, data loss, or loss of profits.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence, to the extent required by local consumer protection regulations. Where not otherwise required by local law, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that apply to you by law in your jurisdiction.
